Course taught in French
Since its creation in 2016, the Lausanne Gamelab has demonstrated that gaming in its various forms éis one of the preferred instruments for bringing academic knowledge into dialogue with action research that is keen to disseminate its knowledge à to a wide audience.
This summer school aims to familiarise participants with the issues, tools and methods involved in the dissemination of scientific content through playful means. It is structured around three days devoted respectively to (i) game design, (ii) the development of video games (iii) and the issues and criteria involved in successful mediation. In the following months, two online half-days will enable participants to submit a game design document and a prototype in order to obtain qualified feedback on their productions.
With a wealth of practical case studies and a strong focus on real-life practice, the course combines mornings with theoretical concepts and afternoons with practical exercises;oric concepts and afternoons of practical workshops, with the help of guest speakers from academia and the world of playful creativity.
Without computer prerequisites, this course is aimed at anyone with an interest in creating games, whether digital (video games) or non-digital (feedback games, social games).
