Specialists in health and safety at work and in studies

The team of health and safety specialists in the SSTE Sector brings together a wide range of skills in related health and safety areas (toxicology, occupational hygiene, risk analysis, fire protection, etc.).

Safety and security of people and property

Occasionally, organised gangs visit our premises, day and night. These people are mainly looking for electronic equipment (computers, telephones, mobile phones, cameras, etc.) that can be quickly and easily resold. Cash is also often sought. It is advisable not to leave your wallet in plain sight. In the event of theft, beware of credit cards.

As a result, we have built up a solid, long-term relationship with our various partners: the Vaud cantonal police, the Lausanne municipal police and POLOUEST. We work in close collaboration with the inspectors from these various bodies.
Prevention is our priority! Here are a few simple and effective tips to protect your property and valuables:

Prevention is our priority!

  • Always lock your offices, even for a brief absence;
  • Keep all your valuables in a safe place;
  • Do not leave your keys on the office door;

We remind you that any theft of university equipment MUST be reported to the security service (25 80). UNIL will systematically lodge a complaint.

For computer thefts, please contact us by e-mail as soon as possible and let us know:

  • Your name and first name
  • Your username
  • Date and time of last UNIL connection
  • Date and location of flight
  • Computer ID number (CI label)

If you are the victim of a theft of private property, we ask you to make a PERSONAL complaint at the nearest police station and to report the theft, if possible with a copy of the complaint, to the UniSEP security service (unisep.centrale@unil.ch)

Events / VIP reception

Every year, several demonstrations take place on campus. We participate in the development of security measures and are active in the field. We also work with the various security agencies to advise you.
