  1. In advance: I get informed
  2. September 15: I ask for a preliminary opinion
  3. November 15: I commit to VAE

Committing to the VAE process allows you to be recognised as a candidate for the VAE at the University of Lausanne, to benefit from support in this process by the VAE Advisor and to lead your VAE file up to its evaluation by the relevant faculty VAE commission.

How do I get involved in the VAE procedure?

To begin the VAE procedure, you must first be in possession of an advance notice of orientation which will have been issued to you on request (see step 1: I request an advance notice).

You will then need to notify the VAE Advisor of your formal commitment to the procedure.

A fee of CHF 1,000 is charged for enrolment in the VAE procedure (more details).

The deadline for registering for the VAE procedure at Unil is 15 November.

Precaution

Committing to the VAE process is one thing, registering to resume your studies with or without VAE (depending on the decision taken by the Faculty at the end of the process) is another.

Don't forget, therefore, to register in good time for the course or programme for which you are resuming your studies with the Registrar's Office at the same time as you apply for VAE.

On the registration form, please also tell the Registrations and Enrolments Department that you are a candidate for the VAE. You will be asked to provide a copy of your orientation notice.
