Food supply
The food served in the campus cafeterias is responsible for 5% of UNIL's CO2 eq. emissions, around half of which is attributable to meat products, as well as 6% of its impact on global biodiversity (in 2019).
- Since 2017, the two main catering providers on the Dorigny Campus have been assessed using the Beelong tool, which measures the sustainability of their purchases.
- The assessment will continue annually until 2021.
- By 2023, all campus caterers will be assessed using this tool, in line with the reference framework for a balanced and sustainable food offer (in French) at UNIL.
