AIESEC Lausanne is a local committee of AIESEC International, and is run by students from the University of Lausanne. Our aim is to promote leadership and multiculturalism by offering internships abroad (voluntary, start-up or in-company) to students from Lausanne and by welcoming foreign interns to the region. We are convinced that experiences abroad develop leadership skills in young people.
Each year we also organise the Job Fair employment forum in March, the Global Village street-food festival in May and other events throughout the year!
We also organise the Global Village street-food festival in May, the Global Village street-food festival in May and other events throughout the year!
AIESEC Lausanne has over 45 members from all faculties, who work closely together. This students' association is an opportunity for all its members to take on different challenges, to develop skills such as sales, marketing, coaching, event organisation and team management, among others.
AIESEC Lausanne is the only association of its kind in Switzerland.
But above all, AIESEC Lausanne is one big family!

All that Swing is the Lindy Hop and Jazz dance association of EPFL and UNIL. Lindy Hop is an Afro-American dance form that originated in Harlem, New York, in the 1920s. Our association is run by the university community for the university community in order to create a vibrant atmosphere on campus.
We will actively cooperate with various Big Bands / Little Bands to create events with live Swinging music.
We see ourselves as heirs to this Afro-American art form and, with a sense of humility, curiosity and respect, we try to learn more and more about it, its roots and its artists. We do this through Jazz Movie Nights and the Jazz Book Club.
If you're new to Lausanne and can dance Lindy Hop or other swing dances, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for new members to help us with our Swing dance teaching, events and social media activities. We're a super cool bunch of people, so give us a shout, pop along to our evenings, or drop us an email or via social media.
Literature is never for us a certainty, nor a routine, nor an object, but an experience that is often festive, and sometimes routine. So this questioning is a kind of safeguard against contented somnolence, at the same time as an invitation to prove the literary in:
Literature is not only a certainty, it is also an experience, often frivolous, and sometimes routine.
Since 2001, Archipel has also been publishing a number of undergraduate dissertations produced by the French Department of the University of Lausanne. Chosen by a reading committee made up of both teachers from the section and members of the journal, these texts must demonstrate an excellent degree of scientific achievement and precision, as well as being easily accessible and enjoyable to read.

Are you a student, doctoral student or employee at UNIL-EPFL who plays a musical instrument and wants to share your passion? The University Chamber Music Association is for you! The AUMC was set up to bring musicians together on campus and organises chamber music activities at Dorigny (Saturdays) and at the magnificent Fondation Hindemith in Blonay (weekends, with accommodation). Professional musicians of the highest calibre coach the ensembles formed for the occasion in a friendly and enriching atmosphere.
The AUMC also provides pianos on campus for members of the university community who are unable to work at home.
The Big Band de Dorigny (BBD) is a swing jazz orchestra made up of established musicians – five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets and a rhythm section – and its repertoire, which is growing by the day, is as festive and danceable as it is sophisticated.
One of our main objectives is to perform on the UNIL campus, both through one-off performances at various events (graduation ceremonies, staff get-togethers, Dies academicus, etc.) and by organising regular balls on campus. As a result, we have been able to create synergies with other UNIL associations, and close links have been forged with the swing dance course given as part of the sports centre.
The Big Band de Dorigny association, which oversees the orchestra, is a university association recognised by the UNIL management.
In 2017, the BoulevArt association created BoulevArt Mag, the first unique art magazine from UNIL and EPFL, a platform for the dissemination and free expression of local and student art for everyone through the production of a magazine with rich and abundant content for any medium compatible with a paper format (for the time being).
The incredible diversity of artistic and critical creations proposed each year by students, artists from the region and members of the association, as well as the opportunity to try their hand at journalistic and cultural practices, are just some of the reasons why the magazine is so popular;try their hand at journalistic and cultural practices, make BoulevArt Mag a constantly evolving space of stimulation designed to encourage the didactic participation of everyone·e within the local artistic scene, which is then made more accessible and showcased.
The Lausanne University Choir is not very visible on the Dorigny site. Perhaps because it lives in the basement of the Banane building? Or because it only comes out once a year, in May, like the daisies, to sing in the Cathédrale, which is no longer strictly speaking part of the university site? Nonetheless, every Thursday in September and June the choir brings together an average of 130 singers... who are willing to bury themselves to work on their voices.
Open to all students at UNIL and EPFL, with no audition or prerequisites required, the University Choir gives them the opportunity to take part in a collective artistic activity that complements the curriculum offered by the universities.
With a young and constantly renewed line-up, the Chœur universitaire takes on a new programme each year, tackling Baroque or Romantic works as well as contemporary creations. Its conductor likes to mix and even intermingle styles and genres, giving everyone the chance to hear at least one composer or major work each year.
The University Choir also regularly calls on specialists to gain a better understanding of the works it works on and to be able to grasp them in all their complexity. It thus collaborates with musicians, musicologists or sociologists, men of the cloth, to be able to present a complementary reflection to the musical work, and enrich everyone's spirit of openness, by proposing special lectures and articles in its programme or by offering a lecture, or even a round table.
In 2008, the Chœur universitaire celebrated its sixtieth anniversary, reuniting its former choristers and right up to its founding members; for the occasion, a CD booklet was published, showing in sound and pictures the rich history of the association. This presence and longevity prove that the University Choir meets a need and offers students something essential to their studies: a rich, friendly and invigorating place where, through vocal art, they can get to know themselves better.

As well as organising events, from the selection and distribution of films to rights clearance and communications, the members of the association are also involved in the production and distribution of films; the association’s active members address the aesthetic and cultural themes of their choice at screenings and on the Ciné-club website.

CRUEL understands you! Knowing how to handle words, recognising the tricks behind speeches and expressing yourself brilliantly in public are essential qualities for academics and everyone else. Since 2016, CRUEL has been supporting students in their quest for the right words and oral fluency. To achieve this, weekly sessions are offered where young (and not so young) speakers come to sharpen their verve and critical faculties so as to be able to exchange ideas, defend an idea and convince others. In short, practice your rhetoric.
If debating is how you become a debater, then there's no better way to improve than by practising. Every week, CRUEL offers its members and the curious an opportunity to argue on carefully selected topics. Pertinent, funny, absurd, ancient - everything is a pretext for confrontation. But always benevolent, never nasty, CRUEL disowns its acronym and makes sure that everyone feels at ease - after all, public speaking is never easy.
So, public speakers, beginners or veterans, CRUEL invites you to join us in making speech a game and words a pleasure!
PS: biscuits and tea included!
For those with a passion for going further and higher, here's a small list of our events outside the sessions:

Founded in 2015, the Lausanne Shakespeare Festival is the only theatre event in Switzerland devoted entirely to the works of William Shakespeare. With its original and diverse programme, LSF combines theatre pieces with experimental performances, immersive theatre, music, circus, children's theatre, cinema and workshops. The festival works with professional Swiss and international artists and collaborators.
Since its creation in September 2009, the Pôle d'expression théâtrale (PET) has brought together theatrical activities and events on the UNIL and EPFL campuses. The umbrella organisation is made up of 6 committees: two for theatrical improvisation (HeiDi, PIP), and four for theatre, in French (Le Dossier K, Les Polyssons), English (ETCetera) and Italian (Pourquoi Pas). The PET committees are active in the fields of theatre, café-théâtre and improvisation.
Events are spread throughout the year and include three to four plays, two improvisation festivals, workshops and other activities.
PLUME is the UNIL-EPFL literary association. Its mission is simple: to promote literature and encourage writing! On the programme: festive and cultural events, partnerships with numerous associations, and an over-motivated team!
Their activities:
SCOPE is the association of students of English at UNIL who want to play an active part in the life of the section.
What do we do? Our primary aim is to represent the étudiants·e·s of the section. This is done in several ways:
A student presence is ensured at section assemblies, twice a year. At these meetings, we discuss and take part in decisions concerning the section, for example study plans. We also talk about the budget, and discuss possible problems and improvements in the section.
We also organise festivities, and other purely social activities, usually two or three times a year. These events are open to everyone and provide an excellent opportunity to get together in a non-academic setting.
We also organise conferences. In order to cultivate an interest among students in academic events and topics outside their course, we organise a conférence each semester;rence, usually given by a lecturer from the section, on a subject of interest to them on which they do not usually teach.
We also have two clubs:
The creative writing club also meets twice a month toécrier together on given topics. We then share our texts in a friendly, non-judgemental atmosphere. Our meetings last an hour and a half and are open to everyone!
The "Food + Poetry" club also meets every fortnight to read poems on a given theme and eat homemade food together. It's a time for talking and sharing, and, above all, discovering new authors·e·s and themes.
If you have any questions about the association or our events, you can contact us by email (scope@asso-unil.ch) or on social networks (Instagram or Facebook).

Unipoly aims to raise awareness and initiate discussion on societal issues related to ecology among students at UNIL and EPFL. To achieve this, we organise film screenings, lectures, debates and many other projects through our various activities.
We have been bringing together the energies of students for over 15 years to take action on our campus on a daily basis: organising free meals at free prices, distributing unsold food in front of the premises, planting carrots in our vegetable garden, organising the weekly market, cleaning up polluted rivers, advocating sustainable practices in our institutions and many other adventures! We have a duty to respect the limits of our planet, to ensure that resources are managed sustainably so that we can pass them on to future generations, and to take action in the face of the climate emergency. By thinking globally and acting locally, we can have a positive impact on our environment and our society.
