Doctoral students from abroad can come to UNIL as:
- Visiting researchers
Doctoral students holding a Master's degree may come to continue their research at UNIL for a maximum of one year. An invitation from a UNIL professor is required (see Directive 4.4 on visiting researchers).
Once your stay has been confirmed, the Welcome Centre can provide information about arriving in Switzerland.
- Exchange students
It is possible to come to UNIL as an exchange student for a study stay of 1 or 2 semesters. An inter-institutional exchange agreement must be signed between your university and UNIL. Your university's international relations office can provide information on exchange opportunities.
- Degree-seeking doctoral students
It is also possible to obtain a doctorate from UNIL. To do so, a UNIL professor must be ready to supervise your thesis. You will find more information on the website of the Admissions Office. There is also the option of co-directing or co-supervising a thesis.
