Culture

UNIL offers a rich cultural programme both on and off campus. Exhibitions, festivals, events and workshops promote dialogue between scientists, artists and the public.

At the heart of the campus, La Grange, Centre / Arts and Sciences / UNIL is a theatre and a centre for research and experimentation. Each season, artists, researchers and the public work together to imagine new explorations through stories of today and tomorrow, through collaborations between the arts and sciences.

The University of Lausanne also hosts Les Accroches, captivating exhibitions combining science and culture to arouse visitors' curiosity and critical thinking. These interactive and educational events explore various scientific themes through artistic and innovative perspectives, offering an enriching experience for all ages.

To encourage collaboration and dialogue between the worlds of science and society, UNIL's Culture and Scientific Mediation (SCMS) department offers a broad selection of activities tailored to different audiences (schoolchildren, adults, families, associations and businesses). A wide range of workshops in a variety of original formats, in both the life and environmental sciences and the humanities and social sciences, invite the public to immerse themselves in the world of science, to experiment and debate the issues facing society today and to gain a better understanding of the world of tomorrow.
