Safety, Environment and Prevention Department (UniSEP)

The UniSEP department is the benchmark for safety, employee and student health and safety training for all UNIL members and users.

Overview

UniSEP is responsible for:

  • Proposing UNIL's safety policy and coordinating and supporting its implementation with the Faculties and departments.
  • Guaranteeing and maintaining safety at work and while studying, and protecting the health of staff and students in the context of academic activities.
  • Training and informing the UNIL community of the safety rules to be observed on campus on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring safety on UNIL sites.
  • Making prevention an integral part of the day-to-day operations of staff and students to build a sustainable and responsible culture.

UniSEP  works with the other administrative services and Faculty units to establish a safety network within UNIL. It coordinates this network, monitors its effectiveness and organises training for network members.

It establishes and maintains contact with the public emergency services (fire brigade, ambulance service and police) so that they are aware of UNIL's safety network and can identify their contacts within it.
