Irène, Nada, Andrée Chuard-Schmid Foundation
Aims of the foundation
Created in 1974 in accordance with the wishes of Mrs Irène, Nada, Andrée Chuard-Schmid, the Foundation (hereinafter Foundation Chuard-Schmid) supports professors and lecturers at the University of Lausanne for special work, in particular research, and contributes financially to their publication.

The Chuard-Schmid Foundation offers support:
- for research
- for publications
Eligibility
Candidates must be affiliated to the University of Lausanne. The following are eligible:
- professors (PO, PA, PAST)
- lecturers (MER)
- professors emeriti
Financing
Solicitations made to other public or private bodies as well as support received are to be indicated on the application form.
The Foundation does not fund:
- contracted salaries
- scientific leave
- the purchase of equipment, instruments, consumables and analysis costs
- the organisation of congresses or symposia
Moreover, it does not enter into the equation for a minimal contribution to a large-scale project such as one supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
Application for support
Completed applications must be submitted to the secretariat of the Fondation Chuard-Schmid by 31 March at the latest.

- A dossier presenting the work (including the table of contents)
- The publishing house's estimate
Authors must submit a written agreement from the publishing house authorising them for electronic republication in Open Access.
The embargo period is two years for collective works and three years for monographs, subject to exceptions granted by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
Submitting a request
Documents are to be sent in PDF format by 31 March to fondation.chuardschmid@unil.ch or by post.
Reports to be submitted
At the end of the subsidised period, no later than 31 March following the year of operation, the recipients of support shall submit to the Foundation Board:
- a report on the progress of their work, together with any appendices
The beneficiaries of support undertake to ensure that the Fondation Irène, Nada, Andrée Chuard-Schmid is mentioned in all documents and other media relating to the subsidised activity.

Beneficiaries are not entitled to any non-public information about the Foundation.
