Mobi.Doc Grant

The funding scheme Mobi.Doc provides two types of funding, which cannot be accumulated, are possible and will be calculated on the basis of a 6 month stay, for any doctoral candidates at UNIL and CHUV, with the exception of doctoral candidates funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF):

  1. the mobility fellowship: is aimed at doctoral students without an employment contract with UNIL, and also to those doctoral students with an employment contract who decide to interrupt the contract as an assistant during their stay abroad. It must substantially cover the personal maintenance of the beneficiary and his/her family. A stay longer than 6 months will be possible with the approval of the dean's office of the Faculty of affiliation, though additional funding cannot be requested. In most Faculties, the duration corresponding to the interruption of the contract can be recovered at the end of the thesis.

  2. the mobility grant: of a much smaller amount than the fellowship and calculated on a per diem basis, it willcontribute to the living expenses of doctoral students who decide, with the approval of their Faculty dean, not to interrupt their employment contract with UNIL and thus continue to receive their salary during their absence.

Two Mobi.Doc calls are planned each year (1st March - 1st September).

  • The next call is fixed with a deadline for the submission of applications on 3th March 2025.

Applications must be submitted via the Optimy platform and will be evaluated by the Commission for Research Expertise (CxR) of UNIL.
