A new system is now available for hearing-impaired students or members of the teaching staff who wish to give courses or conferences adapted for the hearing-impaired.
This is a simple, wireless microphone that can be used as a transmitter microphone for the speaker or as a receiver for the listener. They wear the device around their neck via a magnetic collar and activate the microphone by simply pressing the central button on the device. Unlike FM, digital technology eliminates transmission delays and delivers clear sound.
The UNICOM support group has just acquired a suitcase equipped with this device, and anyone interested in learning more about this system can contact Olivier Grosjean by email (olivier.grosjean@unil.ch) ou au 021 692 22 88. It may also, on request, make this case available on an ad hoc basis and provide the necessary instructions for its use.
