First aid

This training course will enable you to learn the basic techniques of early resuscitation to save lives: a useful civic act in both your professional and private lives. You are a link in the chain of survival. This course is certified by the SRC (Swiss Resuscitation Council) and is available free of charge at your workplace.

BLS-AED-SRC Compact

  • Two-hour face-to-face course in room 1881 of the Geopolis building
  • Four to eight participants
  • Available in French

Objectives

  • Sound the alarm correctly and at the right time
  • Practise putting someone in the recovery position
  • Apply basic adult life support techniques correctly
    • Cardiac massage
    • Ventilation
    • Defibrillation

BLS-AED-SRC Complete

  • Four-hour face-to-face course in room 1881 of the Geopolis building
  • Four to eight participants
  • Available in French

Objectives

  • Consider your own safety when giving first aid
  • Practise putting someone in the recovery position
  • Correctly apply basic life support techniques to adults, children and infants
  • Clear the patient's airways
  • Recognise and react to heart attacks and strokes

First Aid Kit

  • Three-hour face-to-face course in room 1881 of the Geopolis building
  • Four to tenparticipants
  • Target group : UNIL staff going on field expeditions (in Switzerland or abroad)
  • Prerequisite : "First aid: BLS-AED-SRC Compact"
  • Available in French and English

Objectives :

  • To be familiar with the contents of first aid kits
  • Ensure your own safety, that of the victim and that of witnesses
  • Be able to use the contents of the kit in a practical situation
