Wanted - Caregiver UNIL

Your life path has made you attentive and sensitive to the psychosocial suffering that any individual can experience during particular circumstances of crisis or tragedy.

These events, often unexpected and always violent, take the individual by surprise both because of their emotional intensity and because of the chaos they can cause in everyday life.

In these critical phases, immediate emotional and psychosocial support is often welcome and necessary.

If you possess the following qualities and skills:

  • Ability to relate to others and adapt to new situations
  • Ability to empathise while allowing others to activate their own resources
  • Ability to welcome strong emotional expressions
  • Openness and non-judgement in the face of the sometimes peculiar reactions of people in distress
  • Life experience enabling you to apprehend painful situations
  • Ability to question and self-evaluate
  • Availability and a desire to put your skills at the service of the university community
  • Minimum occupancy rate on the site à 60%

Then you could be the person we're looking for to complete the group of caregivers (Emergency psychological help at UNIL) already trained for several years.

What the careteam can offer you:

  • A motivated multidisciplinary team
  • Innovative managers who are attentive to your needs
  • Regular supervisions to discuss the interventions carried out
  • Continuing training in the field of emergency psychology

If you are already interested, you can send us the following documents at the email address: theodor.mamais@unil.ch

  • A cover letter
  • A completed mini CV or "candidate careteam" form
  • A passport photo

When the time comes, it will be essential that you have discussed this new 'community' role and the time commitment it will mean with your line manager. In order to validate your commitment, we will ask you at a later date to return a document signed by you and your line manager.

The document will be sent to you by post.
