Conditions for success

The conditions for admission are set out in the regulations for the preliminary entrance examination to the Faculty of Science and the Environment, available on the Faculty's website.

How to register with the Faculty

In parallel with your registration with the UNIL Registrar's Office, you must submit a registration file to the Faculty's Bachelor's secretariat.

Deadlines

Your application must be submitted by the date shown on the Faculty application form.

As a reminder, registration with the UNIL Registration and Enrolment Service must be completed by 30 April prior to the summer session during which you wish to sit the preliminary examination.

Composition of the application

Your registration file must contain:

  • a full curriculum vitae;
  • a copy of the qualification(s) obtained;
  • a copy of the passport or identity card and, for foreign nationals, a copy of the establishment or work permit;
  • an authenticated translation of documents not in French, German, Italian or English;
  • a covering letter explaining why you have chosen to study in the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment;
  • the application form found on the Faculty's website.

Eligibility period

In accordance with Article 9 of the Directive 3.16 on Preliminary Entrance Examinations for University Baccalaureate Courses in UNIL Faculties, successful completion of the preliminary entrance examination entitles the candidate to admission to the faculty for 2 years from the autumn semester immediately following the examination session.
