You can also do it through your MyUnil personal page. Simply click on the SERVAL icon on the top right corner.

Aims

The aim of SERVAL is twofold:

  • Firstly, it aims at gathering and preserving all the scientific production of UNIL.
  • Secondly, it aims at maximising our researchers' visibility, by enabling them to follow the Green Open Access road.

Benefits

For researchers

More visibility, impact and citations (stemming from OA). Legally sharing your research (vs. ResearchGate). Long-term access and archiving. Usage stats. For all kinds of documents. Foster new collaborations.

For UNIL

Centralise and share the scientific production of the University. Increased ranking and prestige due to the positioning of OA publications on Google and Google Scholar. Long-term preservation of the intellectual patrimony.

For society

Access to knowledge. Return of investment for those who finance scientific research. A decrease in the access of information gap between institutions and countries.

Workflow

SERVAL is a great tool for securely storing your scientific publications and a platform to render them open by following the Green Road . Depositing in SERVAL is compliant with virtually all Open Access mandates.

This downloadable scheme is intended to help you during the deposit process. It shows the information flow within SERVAL and what is expected of the author in each step.

Several short videos are available which show how to deposit in SERVAL .
