Libraries

Libraries are essential for your studies and both goldmines of information and peaceful places to work.

The Dorigny campus is home to two Cantonal and University Library (BCUL) sites: the famous “Banana” (a general library in the Unithèque building) and another in the Internef building, specialising in law and economics.

A third site on the Bugnon campus is for medical students: the BiUM.

The following specialised collections are part of Lausanne's university libraries, all of which are accessible to the public (NOTE: only the BIHM CHUV-UNIL offers work places):

• Library of the Institute of Humanities in Medicine (BiHM CHUV-UNIL)
  Specialisations : history, sociology, philosophy and anthropology of medicine; medical ethics; spirituality; medicine and art
• Lausanne University Medical Library (BiUM-Cery)
  Specialisations : psychiatry and mental health
• Library of Earth Sciences (iSTE)
  Specialisations: geology, palaeontology, mineralogy, geochemistry, geophysics, soil science, biogeosciences and botany
• Library of Unisanté
  Specialisations: public health and occupational health
