General information

When you start to look for a job in Switzerland, it is important to learn about the actions you need to take and the particular features of the Swiss labour market
Other website to browse is Travailler en Suisse : rechercher un emploi en Suisse & vivre en Suisse [Working in Switzerland: looking for work and living in Switzerland].

Application file

To respond to a job offer, most Swiss employers will ask you to send them an “application file” containing the following documents:

  • A cover letter.
  • Your curriculum vitae (CV).
  • A copy of your diplomas and training certificates.
  • A copy of your work certificates.

If they are interested in your file, they will then contact you for one or more personalised interviews.

UNIL vacancies are listed on a dedicated jobs portal

The École de français langue étrangère provides free support for written and oral French skills for all UNIL staff who are not native French-speakers.
