Evaluating teaching

The evaluation of teaching by students is part of a desire to enhance the value of teaching in the same way as research at UNIL, to promote the professional development of teachers and to encourage dialogue between teachers and students, promote the professional development of teachers and instablish a dialogue between teachers and students about teaching and learning.

The aim of the student evaluation of teaching is to help your teachers better understand what is working well in their lessons and what they could improve to support you in your learning.

So any teacher, whatever their status (teacher, assistant, etc.) can ask for your feedback on their teaching. In most cases, you will be asked by e-mail to complete an anonymous online evaluation questionnaire. The results of the evaluation are only passed on to the teacher in the spirit of formative evaluation.

However, don't necessarily wait for the moment of assessment to tell your teacher that you are having difficulty in a lesson or if you feel the need to make suggestions for improvement that you feel are essential to your exam success! Of course, all this will be done in a constructive and caring spirit.
