All our vacancies are advertised on our online recruitment platform. By creating your candidate profile, you can access vacancies or subscribe to alerts, apply for a vacancy and update your personal details.
All our vacancies are published online for all faculties except the Faculty of Biology and Medicine.
The application file includes at least:
Letter of motivation
Curriculum vitae
Copies of diplomas, in particular the doctorate diploma
In addition, the application must meet the requirements set out in the job advertisement.
A pre-application committee is appointed to manage the process, and its role includes analysing applications and shortlisting candidates for interview.
Selected candidates are invited to at least one interview and one public hearing with the presentation committee.
Following the interviews and the public lecture, the presentation committee draws up a report which is submitted to the Faculty Council via the Décanat. Once the latter and its proposals have been approved by the Faculty Council, the report is forwarded to the Executive Board for a decision.
When the report is submitted to the UNIL Management, the initial salary is set in coordination between the Management and the Human Resources Department. As a general rule, the Faculty Director will inform the person selected for the initial appointment of his/her individual salary before the meeting with the Director.
Experience is determined by the period between the date of appointment and the date of completion of the doctoral thesis, minus 5 years.
Where the difference between the date of appointment and the date of completion of the doctorate is less than 5 years (60 months), the starting salary is set at the minimum of the scale.

The Human Resources is responsible for setting the salary.
The Management adopts the conclusions of the committee's report and meets with the primo loco candidate to validate his/her commitment. The Human Resources Department draws up the employment contract and informs the Welcome Centre in order to prepare for the arrival of the new member of staff.
