Our missionPresent at UNIL since 1982, the members of the chaplaincy work to cultivate spirituality, conviviality, dialogue, reflection and action on the UNIL and EPFL campuses, based on an intercultural, interfaith approach. The chaplaincy promotes meeting with others and encourages dialogue and mutual learning. For the student body in particular, the chaplaincy offers a framework that facilitates integration, helping students to forge bonds and find support. Although it is rooted in the Christian tradition, the chaplaincy is open to different religions, beliefs, philosophies and free thinking. It is aimed at the academic community as a whole and is a service provided jointly by UNIL, EPFL and the Catholic and Protestant churches of the Canton of Vaud. Since 2015, the "Collaboration agreement on the UNIL-EPFL ecumenical chaplaincy", which links the universities and the two churches governed by public law in the Canton of Vaud, has been the institutional foundation for its action on campus. The chaplaincy respects and enjoys diversity. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their origin, social status, culture, emotional/sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs.
