Music: the backbone of an Italian language course

>12 Italian songs are studied in their historical context. Listening to and analysing the lyrics allow participants to improve their comprehension skills, to describe personal experiences and to exchange opinions.

Why music? Because it is a universal language, and an authentic source of language which is motivating and fun. Music provides fertile ground for intercultural and plurilingual activities, and allows you to practise your language skills in a dynamic group atmosphere.

Learning outcomes

  • Take part in a conversation and exchange opinions and points of view during a discussion
  • Prepare and give a simple presentation on a familiar topic
  • Understand the gist of a song or an extended discussion on a familiar topic
  • Read and/or listen to a document to identify the required information. Gather information from different parts of a document/documents to accomplish a specific task
  • Write a simple, coherent text on different topics and express personal opinions and ideas
