Planning to Work in an International Environment (B2/C1)

This course is intended mainly for people who intend to enter the international job market.

Learning outcomes

  • Interact in practical work-related situations: making small talk and exchanging facts, telephone conversations and interviews
  • Describe academic and professional background in the context of a face to face job interview or online
  • Give a well-structured pitch/presentation on a professional topic
  • Defend arguments and evaluate different ideas or solutions to a problem in a meeting
  • Use listening strategies to understand the main points of clear standard speech regularly encountered in a business environment
  • Understand and comment on trends in work-related matters and current international issues
  • Correspond in clear standard English using appropriate layout and style (cover letters, emails, short reports)
