The universities of Geneva and Lausanne offer advanced training in social psychology toward a doctoral thesis. Completion of the programme leads to a joint doctoral degree from both universities.
The training extends over six semesters with the aim to support progress on a doctoral thesis, and familiarity with diverse theoretical approaches. In addition to integration into a research team, the graduate training includes a strong methodological component, as well as a more thematic component introducing different fields of social psychology.
The training programme is composed of workshops, inter-laboratory conferences and internal seminars in addition to the supervision of the doctoral thesis. The workshops consist of thematic and methodological modules taught in French or in English mainly by guest lecturers. At inter-laboratory conferences, doctoral candidates and established scholars present their research. Internal seminars allow doctoral students to discuss their on-going work with local teachers.
