The use of genetically modified, pathogenic or alien organisms is subject to notification or authorization (according to the OUC). Other regulations apply to the use of biological agents:
The BSO is responsible for the management of biosafety in his or her department, including ECOGEN notifications. |
The BSO must be trained in biosafety. He/she can follow the training courses offered by Curriculum Biosafety which provides trainings for level 1 and level 2 (depending on the activities carried out in the department). |
